Clifftop meditation ... pre embarkation
Some clifftop meditation time at Kerry Greens with Kim this morning . . . low tide roar on the rocks below, about 10 knots of sou'wester.
MRI this afternoon.
In for surgery at 7am tomorrow.
Definitive biopsy result should be in by Saturday.
All going well, 3 to 7 seven days in hospital - then between four to 8 weeks recovery.
If only this Bass Strait air could be bottled, perhaps sat next to the black and white oxygen tanks by the hospital bed and run into the oxygen therapy mask . . .
A few crew will recognise the rockpool below - and recall the folly of summers past in that special place.
About mid November the water temp enables more rockpool antics.
See you there.

Bass Stait Air can be bottled, courtesy of a Baure air compressor and your choice of 8 or 12cuft bottle, infact there's 35 to 45kts of it due tomorrow so collecting it should'nt be a problem.
ReplyDeleteJust so happens our bottles are black & white same as the hospitals so they won't know your sucking on the good stuff.
As A.J. said where here for you now and for the future.
See when you're styling your new hair cut!

ReplyDeleteSign me up for a bottle whilst you're at it Grant!
ReplyDeleteHey Jim, just grabbed the copy of Leunig's 'A Common Prayer' you handed me at a time when we both looked a lot younger and drank a lot more. A Leunig prayer you drew me to at a tough time in my life as you scraped me off the floor and shaped me back into a person... 'God help us to change. To change ourselves and to change our world. To know the need for it. To deal with the pain of it. To feel the joy of it. To undertake the journey without understanding the destination. The art of gentle revolution. Amen'. Back at ya mate.
Oh, and big thanks for the book by the way! Some people actually think I'm quite intelligent and sensitive when I quote it. Might have even helped me pull a chick once or twice! (Not since we got married Nic, promise!)
Thanks Jim for sharing your thoughts, quotes and pics of the past few weeks. Incredible beauty amongst it all! Thanks, and we are staying with you now in thought...
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share my favorite "backpacker prayer." It is actually an ancient Jewish pilgrimage song, but comes to my mind while trudging up and down the trail, particularly when viewing spectacular mountains up ahead... or rocky paths I HAVE to take (sigh)...
"I lift up my eyes to the hills --
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip --
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you--
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm --
he will watch over your life;
The Lord will watch over your comings and going
both now and forevermore."
Take care, Robyn
